Six Primary Functions of the SSSP

  • Promotes a Positive School Environment

Builds a Multi-Tiered System of Supports

    Conducts Threat Assessments

Each Denton ISD campus has a threat assessment team, as part of the Safe and Supportive Schools Program established by the 86th Texas Legislature in Senate Bill 11. The campus SSSP team conducts threat assessments to determine the level of risk and provide interventions to support the individual for whom the threat assessment was conducted and the victim of the threat.

    Supports Emergency Planning and Implementation

    Ensures Staff is Well Trained

    Collects Data to Continually Improve

Each campus engages with parents, students and staff to provide input on programs, assessments and school climate. Then, each committee at the campus and district level analyzes that data for continual improvement.
