Denton ISD Prevention and Intervention Mandated Education Lessons
Denton ISD is committed to providing prevention and intervention education opportunities for students. Under the Texas Education Code mandates some prevention and intervention topics each school year. Developmentally appropriate prevention and intervention education lessons are created by the committee. The Denton ISD Student Health Advisory Council and the Board of Education (SHAC) have reviewed and approved each unit. These prevention and intervention education lessons were designed using evidence-based resources and aligned with the Texas Education Code. These units will be implemented as classroom presentations by the Counseling and Social Work department.Denton ISD Prevention and Intervention Mandated Education (Senate Bill 9)
