Homebound Services Related to Pregnancy

  • Compensatory Education Home Instruction

Compensatory Education Home Instruction is the homebound a pregnant student receives at home or hospital bedside during the prenatal and postpartum periods of her pregnancy.

These services are provided to a student when:

    • The student is pregnant and attending classes on a district campus
    • A complication during the pregnancy prenatal period prevents the student from attending classes
    • The postpartum pregnancy period prevents the student from attending classes.

CEHI provides academic services to the student at home or hospital bedside when a valid medical necessity for confinement, during the pregnancy, prevents the student from attending classes and following the birth of her baby.

A student, who is pregnant and receiving special education, will be served collaboratively through both special education homebound and CEHI.
