The Referral Form is for placement into the Denton ISD EXPO Gifted and Talented Program.
The EXPO program serves students with exceptional intellectual abilities and potential by providing advanced, differentiated learning experiences that go beyond the regular classroom.
The identification and placement of students for participation in the program is determined by a three-step process: (1) referral, (2) assessment, and (3) placement.
To begin the process, a referral may be submitted by faculty/staff, parents, community members, or at the secondary level, by self-referral, by the deadline listed below.

Kindergarten:
To be included in Kindergarten testing, referrals are due by November 19.
Elementary and Secondary:
To be included in the fall testing, referrals are due by September 26.
To be included in the spring testing, referrals are due by February 6.
If a referral is submitted after the posted date, the student will be referred to the next available testing window.
Appeal Information
Please print off and fill out the appeal form found above and take it to the EXPO Specialist at your child's school.Ask the EXPO Specialist or the Administration at your child's school to have a meeting with you regarding the appeal.The Appeal Meeting must be held within ten business days of the date parents are notified, which is on the top right of the profile.The Appeal Meeting is due by:Testing time Due Date for 2024-2025 School Year
